Great news! You decide which kind of man or woman your child is going to have for a father or mother. You choose which road your life will take: the wide and easy way (here your goal is mainly focused on your own well-being, aka survival); the established way (university and graduate degrees, which means that you don't merely want to survive, but thrive); or the narrow and hard way (choosing to face ridicule and even scorn because by choosing to live ... While we believe that we are the first university in the world to practice our own, unique philosophies, we do admire and greatly respect St. John's College. Why shouldn't there be a large selection of types of universities? Why must they all follow the same basic formula? There are as many ways to learn as there are individuals. Shouldn't there be more than two (St. John's College and everyone else) models? We intend to be the third ... Read More

Meaningless University Degree

Certification, Validation, Accreditation or Verification??? At QU, we do NOT offer any degrees, nor any other type of certification, credentials or similar guarantees. What we do offer is the chance to learn and practice leadership. And the results of our student's practice is displayed right on our website for all the world to see. The good, the bad, the impossible and the ugly. What we offer is verification that you have done the things that you present yourself as ... Read More

Nothing is Impossible

This massive tragedy certainly calls for a
                       proportionally massive response.

Enough of you - my wonderful students - have contacted
me to ask if I knew something meaningful that you
could do that I am compelled to humbly offer this
ShenZhong Leadership Challenge.  (Look to your left.)

Without concrete goals it is impossible to fail, or succeed.
This is why our fundraising efforts must have a fixed target.

Before you question the reasoning behind such an audacious
goal, consider that this catastrophe is basically (hopefully) a
'once-in-a-lifetime' event.  Therefore, an average, one-time
donation of 2,000 Yuan per SZZX student is proportional.

How much money did students spend on their "social week"
trips to Shanghai, Beijing, etc...?  Our brothers and sisters in
Sichuan have lost EVERYTHING.

Certainly we can each sacrifice a single month's worth of rent.

Certainly 2% of us can open our our hearts and give a
displaced person a loving home.  Trust me, I know how hard
this is - I've done it, here in China, numerous times.  But I also
know just how wonderful it is, and I know that I have gained
more than I have ever given.

Who will join me?  Who will lead?  I know ShenZhong well.
I know that there are a large number of students willing to take
action, but they are waiting for someone to lead.  Perhaps YOU
are that leader?  Why not you?

You can contact me at professornash@gmail.com, or you can
leave me a message on my blog: www.RuZiKeJiao.com

I'm going to leave you with a quote from one of the brave
Chinese soldiers, leading his men into this terrible mess:

"In my whole life, I've never done anything like this, I've never seen anything like this, but we must be soldiers now," said the leader, Yang Xin.

"We must fully do our duties," he said. "You are my flesh and blood, and the people buried in here are our flesh and blood."
